Highlights from Our Melbourne Open Day
Enthusiasts and professionals gathered to get an exclusive preview of our newest offerings and discuss the ever-evolving landscape of event lighting in Melbourne. Attendees experienced hands-on demonstrations and interactive displays including a detailed walkthrough of the brand new MaestroDMX autonomous lighting controller.
Unveiling Groundbreaking New Products
One of the biggest draws at this year’s open day was the launch of several innovative products designed with the diverse event scene of Australia in mind. Showcasing a range of new Lighting, Audio and Control Products (as well as some exciting new samples), attendees highlighted some products they particularly loved.
1. HYBRICK Series
The new waterproof HYBRICK series of fixtures started as a sample product but garnered a lot of attention. Delivering 3 unique and powerful fixtures, this range brings some new life to Event Lighting's range of Effect Lighting in the form of a Blinder, Strobe and Wash light in a sleek brick design.
With the ability to coffin latch these fixtures together presents the user with the opportunity to create wild, whacky and wonderful lighting displays that are sure to make headlines at any event.
Keep your eyes out for more information on these fixtures as the attendees at our Melbourne Event had some great feedback which our Product Development team is working to implement, ensuring our products are always serving your business' needs.
2. HAVOCW7X60CRI
Improving on the much loved HAVOCW7X40 comes the HAVOCW7X40CRI, promising an improved Colour Rating Index (CRI) to deliver more accurate colour mixing and natural looking colours.
After receiving some good feedback on this product we are excited to announce this product is ready for ordering with shipping expected in early August. We are also excited to announce that this fixture's big brother the HAVOCW19X40 will be receiving the same update and will be ready for ordering later this year - stay tuned for more information on this product!
3. MaestroDMX
Australia's first autonomous lighting controller was a hit at our Melbourne Open Day, with a number of attendees showing up specifically for this unit!
This unit listens to an interprets a music source and intelligently creates a unique light show for your fixtures. This unit was reacting to audio running through the new Wharfedale Pro XLA Line Array System and controlling 4 of our PANX41 Panbars to produce stunning effects customisable via Maestro's intuative software.
Talking to a number of customers, it was great to hear how they were planning on using this smart little lighting controller - some intending to use it as an ambient controller in the quiet hours before a headline act, some looking to install it in venues, some even thinking of integrating it into their lighting set-up and operate a hybrid light show with the main stage lighting controlled by an operator and other less crucial lighting operated by the Maestro.
The possibilities are endless with the MastroDMX lighting controller!
Visitors could experience these solutions up close, not just seeing but also feeling the quality and versatility. By focusing on performance and ease of use, our latest range is built to empower event professionals with smarter, simpler control and outstanding results.
Thoughts from Our Head of Product Development
No one knows the heart of our product lineup better than our Head of Product Development, Sean Dixon. At the event, Sean shared some valuable perspectives about how consumer feedback is impacting the way his team is planning the product lineup.
“At Event Lighting we really rely on [consumer's] feedback,” Sean explained, "we had close to fifty people come through the doors and see a bunch of equipment that's not necessarily been launched yet."
“Obviously, Victoria weather-wise is quite different to Queensland, Sydney or Perth," Sean elaborated, "it's great to see there are certain ways products are used [and] its great to take that into account."
"[The] people in Victoria that had some great suggestions on how we can make these products better for Australia and, we've got some distributor's overseas now so [the feedback] is invaluable.”
We value the feedback of the community we serve - Feedback from attendees is helping to shape these products, ensuring they meet the real-world needs of event professionals in Melbourne and across Australia.
Community and Networking: The Open Day Experience
Beyond the products and demos, the Open Day provided a valuable networking opportunity. Attendees compared notes, shared stories, and forged new collaborations, all within a welcoming environment.
- Peer-to-peer discussions highlighted favourite tips, creative ideas, and lessons learned from recent projects.
- Our team was on-hand for one-to-one consultations, helping visitors troubleshoot unique challenges and guide them through the products at our event.
- Hands-on areas fostered a sense of experimentation and community learning.
These exchanges are vital for building a strong, supportive event community in Melbourne, where everyone—from seasoned pros to newcomers—can stay inspired and informed.
Our Melbourne Open Day shone a light on the future of Eventec's presence in the city, combining innovation with practicality and community spirit. We look forward to developing our connections with customer's in the region further as we step into the second half of the year.
